Bob Alchimia a Spicchi

Once again La Bottega is bringing to Singapore one of the top Pizza Chefs worldwide to give you the opportunity to taste some of the most innovative pizzas in the world. Come and experience the work of Roberto Davanzo, who from his Pizzeria in Calabria has created some of the most creative, modern pizzas you can have and is well known as the "Pizza Alchemist". Exclusively, for 3 days only, at La Bottega, on the 16, 17th and 18th of October.

Roberto Davanzo, also known as Bob, born in 1989, entered the world of hospitality at a very young age, working at his uncles' hotel. There, he discovered a true passion for pizza, which, after a significant training experience in the North, led him back to Calabria, where he became an instructor at the Italian Pizza School.

In 2016, he decided to open a restaurant together with his partner, Anna Rotella: BOB Alchimia a Spicchi, initially just for takeout, but within less than a year, it transformed into a full pizzeria with a dining area and tables. Since then, the reputation of his doughs and the philosophy of this place for true food lovers—where pizza is eaten strictly with the hands—has grown more and more.

 

Roberto's concept of a pizzeria focuses solely on pizza. There are no appetizers, fried foods, or other products. The doughs he creates are developed and adapted into single servings, round pizzas, drop pizzas, new sides, sweet pizzas (the SUPERSOFT), and other baked goods. Drop pizza is a Roberto invention. The dough is the same as for classic round pizzas but undergoes a first baking in a wood-fired oven, followed by an electric oven. The “drop” in temperature makes it a developed pizza that still retains its crispness. Roberto defines himself as a storyteller, assembling the stories of artisans and supply chain farmers who, through their products, highlight the region.

BOB's menus are passionately tied to Calabria, the region Roberto is committed to promoting and sharing, not just with those who visit the pizzeria or the industry press but also with his colleagues.

 

His pizzeria, BOB Alchimia a Spicchi, has maintained its prestige among the best pizzerias, earning further recognition that attests to Roberto's innovative approach and his dedication to Calabrian culinary traditions.
